Four members of the Turkish security forces were killed on Monday in a bomb attack by militants of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) in southeastern Turkey, private Dogan news agency reported on Monday.

The bombing, in the town of Nusaybin in Mardin province bordering Syria, came amid clashes between government troops and PKK rebels in the area, the report said.

Late Sunday, security forces killed 12 PKK members in southeastern Turkey.

On Saturday, government troops killed 28 PKK militants in operations in the southeastern provinces of Mardin, Sirnak and Hakkari, Turkish General Staff said Sunday.

A 2013 cease-fire between the government and the PKK fell apart after a suicide bomb attack last July in the border town of Suruc in Sanliurfa Province.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist group by Turkey, the United States and the European Union. Endit
