Vietnam's average GDP expansion during 2011-2015 hits 5.91 pct annually: report

Vietnam's average gross domestic product (GDP) expansion during 2011-2015 period hit 5.91 percent annually, according to a government report on Monday.
Vietnam's GDP reached 193.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2015, with GDP per capita being 2,109 U.S. dollars, according to the report presented at the 11th session of the 13th National Assembly of Vietnam which was underway in Vietnam's capital Hanoi.
Specifically, during the 2011-2015 period, the sector of industry, construction witnessed average growth of 6.9 percent annually. Average growth of agriculture hit 3 percent each year while the service expanded at 6.3 percent annually on average, said the report.
In the meantime, total retail sales of goods and services increased 14.1 percent each year while the country's average labor productivity rose 4.2 percent annually.
During the five-year period, Vietnam created some 7.8 million jobs, while reducing the proportion of poor households across the country from 14.2 percent in 2010 to below 4.5 percent in 2015.
During the 2011-2015 period, some 60.5 billion U.S. dollars of foreign direct investment (FDI) was disbursed while that of the official development assistance (ODA) reached 22.3 billion U.S. dollars.
The last session of the 13th Vietnam's National Assembly kicked off in Hanoi on Monday, and is scheduled to last till April 12. Enditem
