Madagascar exported more than 6,000 tons of shrimps in 2015, a government official said on Friday.

"France and China remain the largest consumers of shrimps from Madagascar," Francois disclosed.

In total, Madagascar produced 23,084 tons of shrimps valued at 376 billion Ariary (one dollar is worth about 3,100 Ariary) in 2015, said the official.

For this year, the country's shrimp fishing season began on March 5 and will end in December. Enditem
