First Turkmenistan cultural institute opens in China

Xinhua, March 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

China's first institute of Turkmenistan culture opened on Thursday at the campus of Lanzhou Jiaotong University in northwest China's Gansu Province.

The institute will boost communication and cooperation in education, culture and transportation, said Zhang Guojin, head of the university's school of international education.

Turkmenistan's ambassador to China Chinar Rustamova said the institute would display his country's customs, landscape and the state of its economic and social development. Its role in cultural exchanges will also strengthen economic and trade ties.

Lanzhou Jiaotong University started to recruit students from Turkmenistan in 2008. So far, nearly 100 Turkmenistan graduates of the school have worked on bilateral exchanges. Endi
