Nigeria to call back foreign-based players ahead of AWC qualifiers

Xinhua, March 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

Nigeria will ask 13 foreign-based female soccer team players to camp in the country's capital Abuja ahead of the African Women Cup (AWC) qualifiers coming up next month.

Team spokesperson Remi Sulola told Xinhua that 26 home-based players and captain were currently in camp, adding the foreign-based players have been asked to join the camp latest by March 22.

"Preparation has been in top gear since we started camping about two weeks ago. The coaches in camp have been working in harmony with the girls," the spokesperson said.

The winner between Senegal and Guinea, who are about to slug it out in a qualifying match coming up soon, will meet Nigeria in a two-leg series slated for April 4 and April 12 respectively. Endi
