An Iraqi plane crashed on Wednesday and its crew went missing while flying over Islamic State (IS)-held area near Iraq's northern city of Kirkuk, a security source said.

The Cessna 208 Caravan was on reconnaissance mission over the militant-seized town of Hawijah, some 70 km southwest of Kirkuk, when the authorities lost contact with the crew, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-Plane-Crash)

ADEN, Yemen -- Three suspected al-Qaida would-be suicide bombers were killed in a premature explosion in Yemen's southern port city of Aden on Wednesday afternoon, a police official told Xinhua.

The provincial police official said that "a premature explosion occurred inside a house in Aden's neighborhood of Daar Saad while preparing explosives for a terrorist attack in the province." (Yemen-Explosion)

ISLAMABAD -- At least 15 people were killed and 28 others injured when a bomb went off inside a bus carrying government employees in Pakistan's northwest Peshawar city on Wednesday, officials said.

ABUJA -- At least 22 people have been confirmed killed after two suicide attacks early Wednesday targeted a mosque in Umarari village located on the outskirts of Maiduguri, capital of Nigeria's northeastern state of Borno, spokesman of the Nigerian army, Col. Sani Usman said.

In a statement, the army spokesman said one of the attacks took place inside the local mosque, while the second blast occurred a few minutes later, about 50 meters away. (Nigeria-Blast) Endi
