Belarusian army launches another combat readiness check

Belarusian army has started the second large-scale combat readiness check, Chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian army Major-General Oleg Belokonev told local media Tuesday.

The Head of the General Staff explained that during the first check a full assessment of the activities of armed forces of Belarus was given, and now the inspection is being held taking into account the previously uncovered shortcomings.

Belokonev said the combat units will be brought to full alert to be ready to carry out assigned missions. Combat support systems will be fully tested as well as communication units, recon units, fire strike units, radiation, chemical and biological protection units, radioelectronic warfare units, he added.

Modern approaches to counteracting hybrid challenges, risks and threats will be checked during practical actions of the troops in the final stage of the combat readiness test, said Belokonev. Endit
