U.S. sweeps slopestyle titles at snowboarding worlds

Olympic champion Jamie Anderson won the women's title and her fellow American Brandon Davis took the men's at the slopestyle finals at the world snowboarding championships in Northeast China's Yabuli ski resort on Monday.

Davis had an amazing third run that earned the highest 88.65 points.Japanese prodigy Yuki Kadono, next in line, failed to pull off his best run before he threw away his gloves in frustration.

Canadian star Tyler Nicholson had three mediocre runs to finish ninth. His teammate Max Parrot was second with 86.75 with Normay's Stale Sandbech third with 80.10.

In the women's final, Anderson, Monday's winner of big air, posted 90.25 points, 3.75 over her arch rival, Olympic silver medalist Enni Rukajarvi of Finland, who was second with 86.50. American Julia Marino was third with 82.30.

The snowboarding worlds traditionally features halfpipe, slopestyle and big air, but halfpipe was canceled due to venue problems. Endi
