Singapore stocks close 0.27 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 7.62 points, or 0.27 percent, to close at 2,839.44.

A total of 1.79 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 994.2 million Singapore dollars (720.4 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 230 to 167, while 522 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 18.20 points, or 0.64 percent, to close at 2,847.06 on Monday. Endit
