Indonesia on Monday condemned the bomb attack in the downtown area of Kizilay in Turkey's capital Ankara.

The attack, which occurred on Sunday, killed 34 people and left 134 others injured.

"The Indonesian people and the government convey deepest sympathy and condolences to the Turkish government and its people, particularly to those fallen in the attack and to their families," a statement released by the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry said.

The Indonesian embassy in Ankara has not received any information on possible Indonesian victims from the heinous attack. According to the embassy, 1,553 Indonesians are now staying in Turkey as professionals and students.

The embassy has issued advisory note for Indonesian nationals in Turkey to remain calm, remain alert in responding to the developing situation and to stay away from public spaces to avoid possible attacks. Endit
