Disabled children in Central China to receive free home schooling

Xinhua, March 14, 2016 Adjust font size:

Authorities in central China's Henan Province will provide free home education services for severely disabled children.

Severely disabled children between the ages of six and 14, who are physically and intellectually capable of attending lessons, will be eligible for free education at home, according to a circular issued recently by local authorities.

They will be provided education two times a week at home, or in recovery facilities or orphanages.

Authorities said they will spend a minimum of 6,000 yuan (around 924 U.S. dollars) on education for each severely disabled child this year. Endi
