Singapore stocks close 0.64 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 18.20 points, or 0.64 percent, to close at 2,847.06.

A total of 1.38 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 969.7 million Singapore dollars (702.7 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 229 to 190, while 500 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 19.74 points, or 0.70 percent, to close at 2,828.86 on Friday. Endit
