Pakistan condemns terrorist attack in Turkey

Xinhua, March 14, 2016 Adjust font size:

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned on Monday the act of terrorism in central Ankara, which killed over three dozen people.

A terror attack hit the Turkish capital for the second time on Sunday in less than a month, killing at least 34 people and injuring 125 others, including 19 in serious conditions, according to the Turkish health authorities.

"The people and government of Pakistan are deeply saddened and share the grief of their Turkish brethren at this critical moment," Nawaz Sharif said.

He said in a statement that terrorism is a common threat and the fight against terror is a collective responsibility.

The foreign ministry also condemned the heinous act of terrorism in the strongest terms and said it stands in strong solidarity with Turkey.

"Pakistan reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestation," a statement said and wished the people of Turkey would decisively defeat the scourge of terrorism with their characteristic strong will and determination. Enditem
