Portugal's ModaLisboa ends 46th edition with autumn/winter fashion crazes

Xinhua, March 14, 2016 Adjust font size:

The 46th edition of Portugal's fashion event Moda Lisboa came to an end on Sunday with autumn/winter collections showcased by renowned designers including Filipe Faisca, Saymyname and Kolovrat.

Portugal's biggest fashion event, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, kicked off on Friday under the theme "Kiss," which this year had five different locations, according to the event's international public relations officer Tiago Miranda.

One of the most attractive locations was a pop-up store near the Patio Gale hall in central Lisbon where the event takes place, named "Wonder Room", where attendees can check out 30 national fashion brands.

"The event is growing and its format is changing," Miranda told Xinhua, adding "Lisbon is a city which is in the limelight in great part because of its creativity, and this event is playing a big part in that."

"Kiss" was the theme this year as a reflection of love, affection and intimacy, Miranda added.

Although there are no official figures yet, the organizers expects around 30,000 attendees to have attended this year, and there were around 220 international guests, according to the organizers.

There were a number of internationally renowned designers showing their work this year including Angolan artist Nadir Tati and French artist Christophe Sauvat.

Moda Lisboa is organized by the ModaLisboa Association together with the Lisbon city council. Endit
