China to face U.S. "Dream Team" in Rio Olympic basketball game

The official draws of the Rio 2016 Olympic Basketball Tournaments for Men and Women took place Friday at FIBA headquarter in Mies of Switzerland. The China national basketball team will encounter the U.S. "dream team" in their first match of group phase, which scheduled on August 6.

According to the draws, China, United States, Venezuela, Australia and two teams through qualifying tournaments will compete in the Group A. Argentina, Spain, Brazil, Lithuania, Nigeria and another qualifier will face each other in Group B.

The Rio Olympic men's basketball game will take place during Aug. 6 to 21. The top four teams from each group will move on to the final phase.

On the women side, Japan, Brazil, Australia and three qualifiers was drawn into Group A. United States, which is thought to lead in Group B, will face challenges from Canada, Senegal, Serbia and the other two qualifiers.

The five qualifiers will be decided by the 2016 FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament (WOQT) in Nantes of France from June 13 to 19. The Chinese team, with another 11 teams,will compete for the final tickets for Rio Olympic. Endit
