Cuca agrees personal terms with Palmeiras

Xinhua, March 12, 2016 Adjust font size:

Cuca has agreed personal terms with Palmeiras to become the club's new manager, according to reports in the Brazilian press.

The contract, which is still to be signed, is likely to only run until the end of the year, when the term of president Paulo Nobre also comes to an end.

Cuca has agreed to the length of the deal, and is still negotiating on which members of his backroom staff he will be able to bring with him to the Allianz Parque.

The former Shandong Luneng boss will replace Marcelo Oliveira, who was sacked after the side lost 2-1 at home to Nacional of Uruguay in the Copa Libertadores, the South American answer to the UEFA Champions League.

However, it is unlikely Cuca will be in the dugout for Sunday's derby against Sao Paulo in the state championship. Endit
