ModaLisboa kicks off 46th edition with fresh talent

Xinhua, March 12, 2016 Adjust font size:

The 46th edition of Portugal's fashion event ModaLisboa kicked off in Lisbon on Friday under the theme "Kiss," with an extravagant collection by emerging designers for the next winter season.

Young talents finishing their degrees in Fashion or starting up their own brand were the stars of the evening, with Spanish designer David Catalan finishing off in first place.

The winning designer was chosen by a jury to represent Portugal at Fashion Clash festival in Holland.

Patrick de Padua was selected to join the LAB platform, dedicated to fresh talent, and will have his collection displayed at ComCor store in Lisbon.

Catalan's collection was inspired by the beginning of London's skinhead culture, with models wearing baggy and colorful outfits.

Patrick de Padua's collection "On the Hunt" had models wearing trench coats and elements and materials reminiscent of hunting.

Well known designers including Nair Xavier and David Ferreira also presented their collections on Friday.

The event takes place throughout the weekend and closes on Sunday, where collections by designers Kolovrat, Saymyname and Filipe Faisca among others will be presented.

ModaLisboa is organised by the ModaLisboa Association together with the Lisbon city council. Endit
