Killers of policeman shot dead by Saudi police

Xinhua, March 12, 2016 Adjust font size:

Saudi interior ministry announced on Friday the killers of a policeman were shot dead in a gunfight during the arrest, Saudi Press Agency reported.

Last year, the sergeant Badr Hamid Sarikh Al-Rashidi was taken to a remote area in Riyadh and killed by six terrorists, also his relatives.

The ministry's spokesman said after aerial detection, the police sieged the attackers near a dam at Mustajiddah village in Hail Region.

The chased suspects started the gunfight, and then all got killed by the police, who tried several calls ahead but failed to surrender the attackers.

None of the police personnel was hurt, said the spokesman.

Meanwhile, the ministry confirmed further fighting against terrorism or any act that could harm the country's stability.

Saudi Arabia has been suffering terror attacks targeting police, some of which were adopted by the Islamic State (IS) militant group. Endit
