British FTSE 100 decreases 1.78 pct on Thursday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Thursday decreased by 1.78 percent, or 109.62 points, to 6,036.70 points.

Share price of Intu Properties increased by 1.46 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Aviva, Randgold Resources, Shire and Schroders increased by 1.35 percent, 1.11 percent, 1.07 percent and 0.52 percent respectively.

Direct Line Insurance Group led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 9.19 percent, following by Ashtead Group (7.92 percent), Anglo American (5.19 percent), BHP Billiton (4.97 percent) and Barclays (4.93 percent). Endit
