The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) fired two short-range ballistic missiles into its eastern waters in an apparent show of force against joint annual war games between Seoul and Washington and new harsher sanctions against Pyongyang, Yonhap news agency reported Thursday.

Yonhap quoted the South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) as saying that two short-range ballistic missiles, believed to have been Scud missiles, were launched at 5:20 a.m. (2020 GMT Wednesday) from the North Hwanghae province in the DPRK's western region. (DPRK-Missile Launch)

WASHINGTON -- The White House said Wednesday that it is aware of and reviewing the reports that Iran had carried out another ballistic missile test.

"We are aware of additional reports about additional missile launches today in Iran," White House spokesman Josh Earnest told a daily new briefing. (U.S.-Iran)

BELGRADE -- Chief of UNHCR's office in Serbia Friedrich Schodder said on Wednesday that 1,500 to 2,000 refugees have been stranded in Serbian shelters after the closure of the Balkan route at midnight.

In a statement for Tanjug, Serbian news agency, Schodder said that the remaining refugees from Syria and other countries in Serbia await a long term process in which they can either obtain the refugee status in Serbia, return to their country of origin, or apply for the program of joining families who got separated on the road. LAGOS -- A total of 34 people were killed when a five story building collapsed in Lagos, Nigeria, in the early hours of Tuesday, local authorities confirmed Wednesday.

Ibrahim Farinloye, a regional spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), told Xinhua that rescue operations ended in the evening with 34 dead and 13 rescued. The dead are suspected to be construction workers. (Nigeria-Accident-Deaths) Endi
