Xinhua, March 9, 2016 Adjust font size:

The 15th Textile Asia- International Textile & Garments Machinery Trade Fair kicked off at the Expo Centre in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Wednesday.

Jointly organized by the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PRGMEA) and Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan (EGP), the three-day event has drawn the participation of foreign delegates from 27 countries including the U.S., Germany, Australia and China and is expected to attract over 65,000 visitors from the country's trade and corporate circles, said organizers.

The Textile Asia 2016 is being staged in seven halls of the Karachi Expo Center. Over 700 booths have been installed to help 550-plus international brands display their products.

Chairman PRGMEA Shaikh Muhammad Shafiq told Xinhua that the exhibition is being organized to increase export volume of Pakistan's textile and garment products. He termed the event as Pakistan's biggest B2B show for textile, garment, embroidery, digital printing machineries, chemical products and allied services.

Dr. Khursheed Nizam, president of EGP, said that the textile trade fair is the only UFI (The Global Association of the Exihibition Industry) approved textile trade fair in the South Asian region. He said that the fair will complement Pakistani exporters' efforts for high-quality, value-added products and assist them to further develop their businesses in the export markets.

The annual international textile trade fair has entered its 15th year and it has become one of the most enduring textile and garments events in the world. Enditem
