The UN refugee agency UNHCR on Tuesday announced that a high-level meeting on global responsibility-sharing through legal pathways for admission of Syrian refugees will take place in Geneva on March 30.

"The meeting will be a good opportunity to put the spotlight on this important aspect of responsibility sharing and we hope for concrete pledges," William Spindler, a spokesperson for UNHCR, told a press briefing here on Tuesday.

UN figures show that over four million Syrian refugees have flocked into the neighboring Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan, as well as Europe, which has been overwhelmed by the refugee wave.
