Sao Paulo director wants more from players

Xinhua, March 9, 2016 Adjust font size:

Sao Paulo director Gustavo de Oliveira has confirmed that Argentine coach Edgardo Bauza will not be leaving the club following a disappointing start to 2016, and instead demanded more from the players in the squad.

On Thursday, the Brazilian side take on Buenos Aires giants and defending Copa Libertadores champions River Plate in the Argentine capital in the continental competition.

Sao Paulo lost their Libertadores opener 1-0 at home against The Strongest of Bolivia.

Oliveira added that the club are undergoing a period of adaptation and asked for more heart from his playing staff.

However, forward Calleri disagreed with the director, saying the players do not lack desire and that he believes the team are capable of defeating River away from home on Thursday night. Endit
