Passenger traffic of airline group Air France-KLM inched up by 5.2 percent in February from the same month a year ago, the Paris-based company announced Tuesday in its monthly traffic statistics.

An 11.7 percent jump in flights to and from Latin American destinations helped the Franco-Dutch joint venture to record 5.7 million passengers last month, up 5.8 percent from February 2015.

Despite violent unrest, traffic to and from Africa and the Middle East grew by 7.7 percent while Asian and Pacific destinations lost dynamism over the period as there were 2.2 percent less passengers.

The company also saw a 9.7-percent fall in cargo business in February, according to the company's monthly report. Endit
