Xinhua, March 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

Myanmar will maintain good relations with China under the new government, U Aye Kyu, editor in-charge of the D-Wave Journal, published by the election winning National League for Democracy (NLD), told Xinhua on Tuesday.

The new government is sure to develop the Myanmar-China relations in the sectors of politics, economy and border affairs, said the editor.

He said China is important to Myanmar's peace process and two countries have had a good relation for thousands of years.

China stood at the first in Myanmar's foreign investment line-up with 15.274 billion U.S. dollars from 1988 to December of the fiscal year 2015-2016, Myanmar's official statistics showed. Enditem
