At least 18 persons lost their lives in an auto crash in northern Nigeria's Bauchi-Jos highway, local police said Monday.
The accident occurred on Sunday after a DAF Truck and a Toyota Hiace bus carrying 18 passengers collided, Mohammed Haruna, the northeast Bauchi state police spokesman, said. (Nigeria-Road Accident)

WASHINGTON -- The Pentagon said Monday U.S. carried out a drone strike on a training camp of al-Shabaab, an al-Qaida-affiliated group in Somalia, over the weekend, killing more than 150 fighters of the extremist group.

DHAKA -- At least two people were killed and dozens of others injured on Monday night in a stampede during a Hindu fair in Bangladeshi's Chittagong district, some 242 km south east capital Dhaka.

DAMASCUS -- At least five people were killed and many more wounded on Monday by a fresh rocket attack from the rebels in the northern city of Aleppo, state news agency SANA reported.
