Singapore stocks close 0.48 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 13.49 points, or 0.48 percent, to close at 2,823.51.

A total of 2.79 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.54 billion Singapore dollars (1.12 billion U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 268 to 168, while 487 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 49.38 points, or 1.77 percent, to close at 2,837.00 on March 4. Enditem
