India said on Monday that two Indian sailors were killed and three others injured in a fire on a vessel off the coast of Yemen.

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that while the two were killed in the fire, those injured had been admitted to a hospital in Oman.

"We have lost two Indian sailors Mahesh Kumar Rajagopal and Deepu Lathika Mohan due to fire in a vessel Al Sadaa. My condolences," Swaraj tweeted.

She added "The three injured have been admitted in a hospital in Salalah, Oman. Our missions in Djibouti and Oman are providing all assistance."

India does not have any diplomatic mission in Yemen, but has a camp office in Djibouti and an embassy in Muscat. Enditem
