The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday warned of preemptive nuclear attacks at the United States and South Korea as their joint military exercises are scheduled to kick off Monday.
The DPRK's National Defense Commission said in a statement carried by the state media KCNA that the army and people of the DPRK "will make military counter-action for preemptive attack" and "launch an all-out offensive" to cope with joint military drills conducted by South Korean and U.S. troops. WASHINGTON -- Former U.S. first lady Nancy Reagan passed away at the age of 94 on Sunday morning in her Los Angeles home, according to her office.
A statement issued by her office said the former first lady died of congestive heart failure, and she would be buried at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California next to her husband, Ronald Wilson Reagan, who died in June, 2004. (U.S.-Nancy Reagan)

BRATISLAVA -- The official results published by State Committee for Election and Supervision of Political Parties Financing and Slovak Statistical Office on Sunday evening showed that Smer-SD party had won the general election in Slovakia with 28.28 percent of the votes.
In addition to Smer-SD, seven parties made it into parliament. Freedom and Solidarity came in the second place with 12.1 percent of votes, followed by Ordinary People-NOVA with 11.02 percent. (Slovakia-Election)

NEW DELHI -- One sailor was killed and four others injured in a minor fire aboard the Indian aircraft carrier INS Viraat Sunday night at the navy port of Goa, said the Indian Navy early Monday morning.
