Venezuelan soccer player who plays for Spanish side Rayo Vallecano, Nicolas Fedor, was elected as February's best player in Spain's first division, Liga Espanola, on Friday.
The award was given to the player after a vote took place between sports journalists and editors on Spain's Liga online portal. The results were announced via twitter with a photo of the Venezuelan player receiving his award.
On Feb. 21, Fedor became Rayo Vallecano's first player to ever score a goal in five consecutive matches when he scored against Sevilla in the Vallecas Stadium to equalize 2-2.
Fedor, known as "Miku", overtook Mexican goalscorer Hugo Sanchez and Bosnian Elvir Molic, who both scored goals in four consecutive matches while wearing the Rayo shirt.
The Venezuelan scored the five goals against Celts de Vigo, Deportivo La Coruna, Las Palmas, Sporting de Gijon and Sevilla.
According to Spanish media, Fedor is getting closer every day to returning to his goalscoring form from his 2011-2012 season with Getafe, where he scored 12 goals.
However, the Venezuelan player is currently injured after suffering a micro tear in his femoral biceps during a match against Real Betis last weekend.
Fedor came to Rayo in Madrid at the start of the season after terminating his contract with Qatar side Al Gharafa. He had been with the club since 2013.
Previously he has played for Spanish sides Valencia and Getafe as well as Scottish side Glasgow Celtics. Endit
