Xinhua, March 4, 2016 Adjust font size:

Head coach of the Zambia boxing national team Kennedy Kanyanta has picked five boxers for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games qualifying tournament to be held in Cameroon, the Zambia Daily Mail reported on Friday.

"We sat as the technical bench and looked at the capability of the boxers in camp and then in line with our target of qualifying at least three boxers to Brazil, we have chosen the ones who we feel can reach those targets," Kanyanta was quoted saying by the paper.

Seven boxers were called in camp to prepare for the Olympic qualifying tournament to be held from March 9 to 20 in Cameroon.

Among the boxers selected include middleweight Ben Muziyo, flyweight Karisto Bwalya, welterweight Mbachi Kaonga and bantamweight Emmanuel Ngoma while flyweight Juliana Kasonka is the only female in the team. Endit
