Xinhua, March 4, 2016 Adjust font size:

Bangladeshi anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained 14 people including 12 foreign nationals for committing crimes using different social media platforms in the country.

RAB spokesman Tuhin Mohammad Masud Friday told journalists that the foreign nationals were arrested during raids conducted in different parts of the city on Thursday night.

"A number of mobile phone handsets, laptops, foreign and local currencies have been seized from the possessions of the detainees," he said.

The foreigners with their local cohorts have long been swindling people and stealing money by using various methods on social networking sites including Facebook, he added

Masud said eight of the detainees were Nigerian, one from Congo and three Cameroonians. Endit
