Moratorium before general election begins in Slovakia

The official campaign for the general election in Slovakia ended with the beginning of a 48-hour moratorium on Thursday.

According to the law on election campaigns, any activities that could favor or harm parties, movements and coalitions running in the election are prohibited during the moratorium.

Parties were allowed to spend a maximum of 3 million euros (3.25 million U.S. dollars) on their election campaigns and must use a transparent bank account for this purpose.

A total of 22 political parties, movements and coalitions are still running in the election held on March 5. Enditem
