Update: 2 armed women killed after attack on Istanbul police station

Turkish police killed two women after they attacked a police station on Thursday in Istanbul, Turkish media reported.

The two were killed after being cornered inside a building near a riot police headquarters in Istanbul's Bayrampasa district.

In footage shown on CNN Turk, one woman threw a hand grenade while the other shot at police officers who were patrolling outside the headquarters.

Two police officers were wounded at the scene, Istanbul Governor Vasip Sahin told reporters.

The identities of the two women have not yet been revealed. Endit
