Bangladesh plans record 43 bln USD national budget for 2016-17 fiscal year

The Bangladeshi government has planned a record 3.40 trillion taka (around 43 billion U.S. dollars) national budget for the next 2016-17 fiscal year beginning in July, the country's finance minister said Thursday.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith said, "We're planing a 3.40 billion taka national budget for the 2016-17 fiscal year (July 2016-June 2017)."

But he did not elaborate on the new fiscal year budget which is to be unveiled in parliament in the first week of June.

The Bangladeshi parliament in June last year passed a record 3 trillion taka (about 37.83 billion U.S. dollars) national budget for the current 2015-16 fiscal year (July 2015-June 2016). Endit
