Xinhua, March 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Spanish stock exchange index IBEX-35 began the month's trading on a strong note, finishing Tuesday up 1.77 percent.

The IBEX started the day at 8,461.40 points and ended trading at 8,611.00 points after what was a good day generally for shares throughout Europe.

The IBEX-35 experienced its fourth successive day of increases for the first time since October and recovered the 8,600-point mark it lost around a month ago.

The improvements were driven by the strong performance of INDA, whose shares soared 15.65 percent in the wake of the company's publication of its 2015 results after the close of Monday's session.

ArcelorMittal shares also rose sharply for the second day in a row, climbing 9.02 percent, while there was a 4.07-rise in the value of Inditex shares on the day the company founder Amancio Ortega was confirmed by Forbes Magazine as the second richest man in the world.

Oil company Repsol and Mediaset both performed well, while Technicas Reunidos had the worst performance of the day with a share price drop of 2.62 percent.

Meanwhile, the Spanish risk premium fell to 132.6 points and interest on the Spanish 10-year bond ended the day at 1.48 percent. Endit
