Macedonian 'Alexander the Great' Airport awarded best European airport in 2015

Macedonian capital city Skopje International Airport "Alexander the Great" has been awarded the best European Airport of 2015 in the under two million passengers category by the Airport Councils International (ACI) for the service quality, Macedonian local media reported on Tuesday.

Zoran Krstevski, head of the Skopje based airport, declared for the media: "The award is a confirmation of our dedication towards passengers and airlines, as well as towards the newly opened routes and improved services, for which we are grateful to our partner companies."

The ACI program announced the winners on Monday in Montreal, Canada, after processing over 550,000 surveys from over 300 airports in more than 80 countries in 2015.

The surveys, which covered 34 key service areas and included 8 main categories such as approach, check-in, security, facilities, food, drinks, retail etc. The same survey questions were used for all airports allowing the airports to analyze their own performances and to compare them to other world level airports.

Skopje airport received this award in 2012 and 2013 as well. Endit
