Singapore stocks close 0.65 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 17.13 points, or 0.65 percent, to close at 2,666.51.

A total of 1.51 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 2.62 billion Singapore dollars (1.87 billion U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 196 to 187, while 544 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 45.98 points, or 1.77 percent, to close at 2,649.38 on Friday. Endit
