Xinhua, February 26, 2016 Adjust font size:

China has confirmed a new imported Zika case, bringing the total number of imported infections on the Chinese mainland to six.

The National Health and Family Planning Commission said in a statement on Friday that the patient, a 42-year-old woman from east China's Zhejiang Province, was bitten by mosquitos while working in Suriname in South America.

She returned to China on Sunday and developed an itchy rash but no fever on her way back, according to the commission.

She went to a hospital in the city of Wenzhou and was confirmed as infected by Zika on Friday.

The patient is in a good condition and recovering, the statement said. Endi
