French President on Thursday visited the stadium of Boca Juniors, one of Argentina's most popular football clubs, accompanied by Argentinean President Mauricio Macri.

The two heads of state visited the hallowed ground, accompanied by David Trezeguet, a French-Argentinean player, who won the World Cup with France in 1998 and played for Platense, River Plate and Newell's Old Boys in Argentina.

During the visit, Hollande received two football jerseys, from the Argentinean national team and Boca Juniors, bearing his name. Macri also took Hollande to visit the balcony from which former star Diego Maradona watches games.

Days before, the stadium was visited by another head of state, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

Before entering politics, Macri was President of Boca Juniors from 1995 to 2007. Endit
