Brazil World Cup qualifier tickets go on sale

Xinhua, February 26, 2016 Adjust font size:

Tickets went on sale for the FIFA World Cup qualifier between Brazil and Uruguay Thursday.

The match is scheduled to take place on 25 March at the Arena Pernambuco in Recife. Kick-off will be at 9.45pm, local time.

Tickets cost between 100-200 Brazilian reais (about 25-50 U.S. dollars), and will be the fifth qualifier of the current campaign.

The clash is expected to attract global interest, as it will mark the return of Uruguay frontman Luis Suarez following a nine-game ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, held in Brazil.

Uruguay sit second with nine points in the qualifying table for the 2018 tournament, which will be held in Russia. Brazil are in third place, on seven points from four outings thus far.

Tickets can be bought online from the Brazilian Football Confederation website, www.cbf.com.br. Endit
