Riga records rise in large property transactions in 2015

Xinhua, February 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

The number of large property transactions, exceeding 1.4 million euros (1.5 million U.S dollars) in value, rose in the Latvian capital city from 15 in 2010 to 63 in 2015, according to a report published Wednesday.

Business daily Dienas Bizness last year's biggest property transaction was worth 14.7 million euros, in which the commercial bank Regionala Investiciju Banka purchased a land plot and building in Riga's most expensive residential neighborhood.

2014's record deal worth 26.7 million euros remained unsurpassed, however.

Trade in apartments and other premises in various high-end projects in Riga and the seaside resort Jurmala accounted for the lion's share of real estate transactions in Latvia last year. (1 euro=1.1 U.S. dollars) Endit
