The conflicting parties in Ukraine on Wednesday have agreed here to resume the exchange of prisoners.

The release is scheduled for this Friday, Feb. 26: eight people are to be released by the Ukrainian authorities and four by Donbass separatists, Martin Sajdik who represents the Organization for Security and Co-operation for Europe (OSCE) in the Contact Group on Ukraine, told journalists.

Ten people were already released on Feb. 20 when Kyiv exchanged six of its captives for four captives released by Donetsk, OSCE representative recalled.

Sajdik also said that the Ukrainian side had confirmed its readiness to open a crossing point on the contact line to road transport and humanitarian supplies near Zolotoje this March in case of keeping safety.

The next meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group is planning to be held in Minsk on March 2, on the eve of a meeting of the Normandy Quartet foreign ministers in Paris scheduled for March 3. Endit
