Xinhua, February 24, 2016 Adjust font size:
Inspections of schools, from kindergarten up to higher learning institutes, will soon begin as the spring semester starts, the Ministry of Education (MOE) said on Wednesday.
No less than half of the inspected schools will be in rural areas, the MOE said.
The inspections, jointly organized by the commission on education supervision under the State Council and the Ministry of Public Security, will focus on school and campus management, school buses, dormitories, and food safety, MOE spokesperson Xu Mei said.
Institutions lacking in infrastructure or those in remote rural areas as well as boarding schools and schools for children of migrant workers will be given particular attention, according to a circular on the inspections issued by the commission.
The result of the inspection will be made public. Schools that fail the inspection will be identified and ordered to address the problems within a set time. Endi
