Iceland's wage index records 0.4 pct increase in Jan.

Iceland's wage index reported a month-on-month increase of 0.4 percent in January, according to figures released by Statistics Iceland on Tuesday.

The figures showed that the wage index in January 2016 was 545.0, an increase of 0.4 percent compared with 542.7 in December 2015. The index takes the wage in December 1988 as base number of 100.

In the past 12 months, the monthly wage index has increased by 9.4 percent.

The real wage index in January was 130.5, an increase of 1 percent compared with that of the previous month.

In the past 12 months, the real wage has increased by 7.1 percent. Enditem
