ZTE presents two new smartphones in Barcelona

Xinhua, February 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chinese telecommunications company ZTE presented two new smartphones on the opening day of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) this Monday in Barcelona.

The company showed the world the ZTE Blade V7, a smartphone with a 5.2 inch screen that has a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and a MT6753 chipset and 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 processor.

It is just 3.5 mm thick at its thinnest point, uses a 2,500 mAh battery and contains both a 13 megapixel (MP) and a 5 MP camera.

Waiman Lam, from ZTE's marketing department told Xinhua the Blade V7 was a mid-range product and was comfortable to use thanks to its "fine" design.

"We are trying to create a bit of everything in order to lead in a market where everyone has different needs," he explained to Xinhua.

This variety was illustrated by a presentation of the ZTE Blade V7 Lite, which is slightly thicker that the Blade V7 with a 5 inch HD screen. It uses a MTK6735P 1.3GHz processor with 2GB RAM and has an 8 MP camera with forward and backward flash.

The Blade V7 Lite uses a 2.500 mAh battery and uses the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operative system. It also has a fingerprint scanner on the back.

Both phones will go on sale in selected markets later in the year.

The Blade V7 and Blade V7 Lite are the second and third products unveiled by ZTE at the MWC after the company presented the Spro Plus intelligent portable projector on Sunday.

Waiman Lam described the Spro Plus as "a multifunctional device, which is very useful both for business presentations and also for entertainment."

The 2016 MWC sees 2,100 companies exhibit over 110,000 square meters of floor-space at the "Fira Gran Via" exhibition center in Barcelona and the event is expected to welcome 95,000 visitors before closing its doors on Thursday. Endit
