U.S. oil price rises amid mixed data

U.S. oil price edged up Thursday as the country's crude data came out mixed.

U.S. crude supplies of last week added 2.1 million barrels to 504.1 million barrels, 78.5 million barrels more than one year before, according to the weekly report of U.S. Energy Information Agency (EIA) Thursday.

Inventories at Cushing, Oklahoma, the delivery point for the U.S. contract, gained 30,000 barrels to 64.73 million barrels.

In the meantime, EIA report showed that U.S. crude production lost 51,000 barrels to 9.135 million barrels a day last week.

The West Texas Intermediate for March delivery moved up 11 cents to settle at 30.77 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while Brent crude for April delivery decreased 22 cents to close at 34.28 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange. Endit
