Two Israelis wounded in West Bank stabbing attack

Xinhua, February 19, 2016 Adjust font size:

Two Israelis were wounded in a stabbing attack on Thursday afternoon in a settlement in the West Bank, the Israeli army said.

Two Palestinian assailants stabbed the two Israelis inside a supermarket in the Sha'ar Binyamin Industrial Zone in the West Bank north of Jerusalem, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson said in a statement on Thursday.

One Israeli was seriously wounded and another moderately wounded, and the two were evacuated to the Hadassah Mount Scopus hospital in Jerusalem.

The two attackers were shot by a bystander, the Ynet news website reported. They were also evacuated to the hospital in moderate to serious condition.

At least 26 Israelis were killed in stabbing, shooting and vehicular attacks since October, and more than 160 Palestinians were gunned down in clashes with Israeli security forces.

Israel charges the Palestinian Authority is inciting violence in the ongoing wave of violence, whereas the Palestinians charge it's the result of the 49-year Israeli occupation of the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza Strip, where the Palestinians wish to establish their own state. Endit
