4,000 searching for 3 missing children in E China

Xinhua, February 18, 2016 Adjust font size:

More than 4,000 people are searching for three children who went missing on Tuesday afternoon in east China's Zhejiang Province.

A boy, 7, and two girls of 8 and 12 years old from Jianguang Village, Pujiang County, left home at noon on Tuesday and have not been seen since.

As well as the 4,000 people the local government has organized to search across the county, a police helicopter has dropped food and warm clothes in the area, hoping the children could find them.

Amphibious vehicles and divers are searching for the children in reservoirs, ponds, and rivers.

Ten professional rescue teams are also involved, and messages relating to the search are spreading on major Chinese social networks.

"We will do whatever we can to find the missing kids," said Shi Zhenqiang, Pujiang Party secretary. Endi
