S. Korea's deputy PM to attend Boao Forum for Asia

Xinhua, February 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

South Korea's deputy prime minister for economic affairs will attend this year's annual conference of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) as the country's top delegate, Seoul's foreign ministry said Tuesday.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Cho June-hyuck told a regular press briefing that Deputy Prime Minister Yoo Il-ho, who doubles as finance minister, will participate in the Boao forum scheduled from March 22 to 25 in Boao, a coastal town in China's southern island province of Hainan.

A non-governmental and non-profit international organization founded in 2001, the BFA is committed to promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries closer to their development goals.

This year's conference was themed "Asia's New Future: New Dynamics and New Vision."

South Korea had dispatched its prime ministers to the forum, hosted by China, in 2011 and 2014 respectively. Enditem
